Ferrari 250 Lusso

Car Make/Model
Ferrari 250 Lusso

1963 Ferrari 250 Lusso finished in Argento with Nero. 1 of just 350 cars produced and complete with Ferrari Classiche

The last of the famous 250s, the Lusso continued on from the SWB and was previewed at the 1962 Paris Motor Show. Only 350 cars were delivered between 1963 and 1964, with a sales price of £5,606 in period.

Like the SWB and GTO that came before, the Lusso came equipped with a 3.0-Litre V12 capable of a top speed of around 150 mph; extremely competitive at the time. However, being branded Lusso, or 'Luxury,' this variant was built to fill the gap between existing 250 GT models and the GTE.

As such, the Lusso was never designed to compete, in turn creating the finest of all the 250s to drive on the road. However, the car performed so well, it did end up competing in the Targa Florio and Tour de France.

Car number 94 of 250 was delivered new to New York in 1963 where it would remain in the USA until 2011. At this time, the car was sold to the UK, however one of the US owners enjoyed the car for 33 years of its life.

Today it is presented in magnificent all round condition, finished in Argento over Nero and complemented by a good history file and Classiche Certification from the factory.

Further, this Lusso entered the 2011 Mille Miglia and 2012 Tour Auto, with results sheets on file. In terms of recent work, the car had its last major restoration in 2006 and also underwent HTP preparation by Cavallo Motorsport in 2011.

The Lusso remains one of the most beautiful and sought after Ferraris to leave the famous gates at Maranello, with this example offering one with both great provenance and also sitting in fantastic condition.
